OK, Wifey is on my back to post a message on el blogo. It has been a while, and I know all you 4 followers of this thing have been biting your nails in anticipation of the next post :)

Well, a lot has happened since the last time we met. Some of the highlights are:
  • Paige and I took music teaching jobs at a school here in Chennai.
  • We promptly left said school amidst a tornado of drama (long story).
  • We battled a horrendous flu. And won.
  • Moved to a new apartment on the complete opposite (and much preferred!) side of the city.
  • Reconnected with our beloved former (ok, life-long) teacher Sriji.
  • Started the new year on a train to the Indian state of Karnataka, with the biggest, brightest, reddist sunrise I've ever seen rising over majestic coconut trees and bucolic rice paddies.
  • Played drum set in a Carnatic-Western fusion concert in the lovely town of Mysore.
  • Played with the elephants at a gorgeous ashram, which served some of the best food we've had in India.
  • Toured a palace.
  • Met several wonderful people from all around the world.
  • Planned our exit from India, from whence we will detour to indulge our beach-loving tendencies on the islands of south Thailand.
After reaching a low point a few weeks ago, in ways personal, professional, and physical, we have emerged reinvigorated, motivated, and most importantly, humbled. Looking forward to going to home to Taiwan to reconnect with loved ones, good food, and a future of opportunities.

2010 New Photos!!

Happy New Year! We've been too lazy to update. Here are some photos!

Our life in India has been great after the K.M. drama. (Maybe one day we'll share it here...but..no point really) Things worked out for the best though. We are enjoying our trip again after sickness and enjoying music and meeting amazing musicians.

I've gotten really hooked on the traditional south Indian food - Vadai, Idly, chappati, paratha, Thali meals, and of course dosas and so on. They are SO delicious. Although I crave Chinese food all the time, I'm going to really miss the food here. Thanks to Sriji. He's taking us to all the back alley messes (small diners) that only locals would know. Absolutely incredible!

Here are the photos. My brain is narrating too fast, I forgot what I was gonna write already :-)
Enjoy!!
